Point In Time: waiting to draw final conclusions but nos. going down may mean more people at-risk of homelessness receiving help.
Point in Time: 145 chronic homeless, last year: 115.
Point in Time: 392 responded to survey accomp. count. recognize to count "chronic homelessness."
P-I-T last year 518 people total; this year 392 homeless ind. counted.
Sawyer: Point in Time count, all agencies reported in; city schools part. for first time. & APD reported on arrests of homeless ind. on date
2010 census street count will be in a couple of weeks.
2010 census will be counting people sleeping on streets, prov. sites with census forms & sites to talk with census staff.
City & County is going to help Census Bureau conduct count for typically hard to count populations, including Homeless individuals
2-1-1 WNC linking with local Homeless Information Management System (HMIS) #homelesscoalition
