@RobbieGibb has more than a point here, during my time in BBC news only ever two papers in meetings - the FT and the Guardian, also all tv monitors were on their own content..a giant echo chamber! Cultural change vital against backdrop of steady phased licence fee withdrawal.

A new poll has found two-thirds of British people think the £154.50 a year BBC licence fee should be scrapped or substantially reformed. In a further blow to the corporation, the poll also found ITV was now more trusted than the BBC to be impartial. dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7…

While I don’t mind paying the licence fee, I do not want to pay for a service which has a bias and imbalance as we have seen over the last three and a half years. Has BBC got control of this. A thorough review is required.

One issue is BBC journalists are not civil servants but the BBC is funded by taxpayers. Talent can move from BBC to commercial & visa versa. BBC is in an odd space, competing with well funded online offerings & to keep talent they need to pay. The current model is untenable.
