Another patient shocked to find she has a fracture when she thought she only had a break. These terms are used interchangeably by clinicians. One is not worse than the other. FRACTURE = BREAK. Complexity factors include movement of bone pieces, where in the bone, bone health etc

Toe fractures have been on the list a lot this week. Many fallen planks of wood, furniture dropped on them and stubbed on things while rushing in flipflops. Please remember your tootsies with care and wear protection if you are doing DIY.🥾🦴👣 @bhr_orth @BHR_ED @bhr_hospitals
Since our official launch in March, we are maintaining a consistent rate of discharge after comprehensive advice telephone consultation of around 53%. What a change for these 655 local people, and at a time when so needed. Lots more to work on ... and thanks go to ALL involved

Lockdown injuries this week included, flip flops verses a garden concrete post, falling over whilst watering garden pots, dropping heavy saucepan on foot and several trampolining events and home exercises disasters. They said "stay safe at home" ... please be careful

Around 450 telephone consultations this week alone for fracture patients. At the same time, relocating, creating new clinics, having key staff off sick, and trying to ensure everyone gets taken care of... but so so many thank yous and so much appreciation from the public.
So sorry for all the @thecsp members & other AHPs that don’t get a mention on news etc even though you’re right at the Frontline in ITU etc. I did think with the CPAP news yesterday we might see/hear something but...... you’re all simply the best! Keep going!

This little space man really didn't fancy doing #physio. Instead we put on his moon boots (AFOs) + did some slow space walking, negotiating obstacles on the moon, picking up moon rocks and throwing them to each other + spent time in the decompression chamber (standing frame).
Lest this helps anyone: I’ve put on 40 pounds. I want to lose it as I feel less me. And it’s vital to be audaciously free to be ourselves. But whilst I reside in a bigger body I will not feel shame.There are many complex reasons for weight gain and losing it can be hard for many.

Just did 1.5 hr video triage consultation with COVID survivor, 7week ICU stay. PEG in situ+vocal cord palsy. I asked him how we was feeling emotionally. “I’m just happy to be alive, Emma”. Told him our team would do everything we could to get him back to where he was. #mySLTday
