Year 4 had a great afternoon at Symphony Hall in Birmingham recently. Not only did they showcase their singing talents, but they also displayed their violin skills in a wonderful arena, whilst soaking up the sights and sounds of various orchestral instruments.
As part of ‘My Money’ week, year 4 explored deals, how shops/online sites construct them and talked about when a deal is sometimes ‘too good to be true.’ We then looked at using some of the techniques to create our own deals. #mymoneyweek2025
Today, Year 5 swapped the classroom for adventure at Laches Wood! 🏹🪓 🧗🏼 From axe throwing to high ropes, they showed courage, teamwork & resilience in buckets! A day full of fun, challenges & proud achievements! ⭐️
Year 5 had a great time baking Victoria sponge-inspired cupcakes as part of their Design Technology unit 🧑🏼🍳 they had a fantastic time sharing their bakes with their parents this afternoon too! 🧁
Year 6 have been learning about grid references by locating places in their locality! 🗺️
Year 3 have had a great time exploring the changing and adapting theme as part of this year’s British Science week. They mixed a solid with a liquid which created a gas and in turn caused their balloons to inflate!
Year 3 had a great World Book Day! They described their favourite book character for others to guess, visited the library, measured classroom items using books and learnt and performed a poem as part of a whole school competition!
During World Book Day, Year 4 made Top Trumps cards based on their favourite books or characters.
As part of their PSHE topic on Dreams and Goals, Year 2 have been making dream creatures for their dream garden! 🪴🪶🥅
Year 5 have begun their exciting computing unit about Microbit! Today, the children used code to create a polling program. 💻
Year 3 spent this afternoon bread tasting as part of their learning in Design Technology. They tried a variety of different breads to help them formulate a success criteria for baking their own bread at the end of the unit. Brioche was definite favourite!
Year 6 have been investigating how to create their own sound scapes today using specialist software! 💻
Year 5 have been investigating the effects of air resistance. The children discovered that the bigger bag had more surface area, creating more resistance, which made them run slower 💨
Year 4 started the term off with a bang when they visited the ThinkTank museum in Birmingham. It introduced them to our new science topic by helping us classify different animals and showed us different levers and pulleys for our upcoming design and technology work.
Year 3 were learning all about teamwork in their PSHE lesson this week. They worked with a partner to design, produce and evaluate their own dreamcatchers.
This week in Art, Year 2 have been colour mixing - using the primary colours to make secondary colours. 🎨🖌️
Year 5 had a fantastic trip to Stafford Fire Station for their Safe & Sound event today! They learned about fire safety, water safety around canals and rivers, and railway safety - important life lessons to keep them safe! 🚒🔥
In Year 3, as part of our Computing lessons, we have been learning to send emails. This week the children sent an email including an attachment. They have also been finding out what it takes to be a responsible digital citizen!
During PSHE, year 4 looked at what it means to work together and how they can be successful as a team. Using respect, resilience and reflection, they designed their own ‘potato people’
Last week was Penguin Awareness Day and Reception children were excited to find that an Emperor penguin had visited our classroom!🐧❄️
