Reviewed what a different psychiatrist gave one of my patients today. So many meds piled on that they just threw in an anti-Parkinson by default knowing they’d trigger side effects. Translation: too lazy to titrate, here’s your shotgun blast of dopamine blockers.
They call it “treatment-resistant depression” after 2 failed meds. But both were chosen by the same doctor using the same guesswork.
People underestimate how much classical texts dissolve existential anxiety. Realizing people wrestled with the same despair 1,000 years ago is humbling. It should be core psychoeducation, suffering is human.
