Day 1 of our youth expedition to witness 30 years of environmental restoration was exciting and insightful! Participants at the tour delved into Rugezi wetland rehabilitation, learning about its immense benefits for local communities & the entire nation #NationalEnvironmentWeek
Day 2 of our tour was a success! Participants learned about Rwanda’s remarkable restoration of Gishwati and Mukura forests into a national park and biosphere reserve. They also explored Rwanda’s initiatives to safeguard and protect Lake Kivu. #NationalEnvironmentWeek

Day 3 of our youth expedition was filled with excitement and learning! We visited the Museum of Environment and Lake Cyohoha in @BugeseraDistr to explore Rwanda’s 30-year environmental restoration journey, including the revival of Lake Cyohoha after it dried up in 2000
Our youth expedition participants were fascinated by the restoration of Lake Rwakibare. The lake had started drying up before @REMA_Rwanda started implementing a project that restored it and carried out other activities to build communities' resilience to climate change.
Exploring Kibare Market's relocation from Lake Rwakibare's buffer zone was inspiring for youth witnessing 30 years of environmental conservation! @REMA_Rwanda built a decent market outside the lake’s buffer zone, benefiting locals & Tanzanians while biodiversity thrives
