The Outdoor Education programs at Five Oaks provide a range of nature-based experiences with activities such as hiking, rafting, and wildlife observation. BCF supported the Five Oaks Adventure Camp, where children can explore the local river ecosystem and learn outdoor skills.

“No one in the Brantford Area goes hungry.” This is the goal of the Soup for the Soul Emergency Meal Program at St. Andrew’s United Church. With support from @BrantCommFdn, Soup for the Soul serves hot and nutritious meals to those in need five days a week, 52 weeks a year.

Brant County SPCA envisions a future where all animals have a kind, compassionate, and safe environment. H.O.P.E. (Helping Owned Pets in Emergencies) supported by @BrantCommFdn exemplifies this goal with short-term care for pets of families experiencing life-altering emergencies.

Hearts to Homes Feline Rescue & Sanctuary is a rescue dedicated to the welfare of cats and kittens, helping families and seniors in need keep their pets, and slowing the growth of pet overpopulation. @BrantCommFdn provided Hearts to Homes funding for food and veterinary costs.

The Brant Community Foundation office will be closing at noon today, Friday August 29th, and reopening Tuesday September 2nd. We wish you a safe and happy long weekend!

.@stmarksbford offers “Enhancing the Lives of Older Adults,” providing the opportunity to learn, socialize, exercise, and receive support. @BrantCommFdn provided funding for Gentle Fitness, Lunch and Learns, and food distribution to community members experiencing food insecurity.

“Moving lights bring life to an event space and have the ability to change the atmosphere.” @BrantCommFdn supported the Moving Lights Project by the @SandersonCentre Foundation. This project aims to attract high profile shows and maintain a professional theatre experience.

The mission of @bsobrant is to provide opportunities for musical appreciation and education for all ages. The Refuge Project, supported by @BrantCommFdn, is a collaborative concert aiming to provide newcomers with a cultural experience and sense of belonging within the community.

. @JA_SWO delivers free, hands-on education in work readiness, financial health, and entrepreneurship. With support from @BrantCommFdn, JA SWO delivered learning experiences in Brant County for youth to develop the skills needed to build successful careers and thrive financially.

“All Children Read” is the vision of @Strong_Start and their mission is to help young children learn to read through community partnerships. @BrantCommFdn supported Letters, Sounds and Words, which provides children in Brantford and surrounding area with targeted literacy support

. @BrantFFT provides Universal Student Nutrition Programs in elementary and secondary schools in the City of Brantford and County of Brant. @BrantCommFdn provided funding for nutritious foods distributed through these programs, providing equitable access to healthy food options.

. @BrantCommFdn provided funding for native trees and shrubs for two community tree planting events organized by @BrantWaterways – Brant Tree Coalition in April 2025. 3,370 native trees and shrubs were planted by 570 community members. Foundation staff were happy to participate!

. @cablc offers programs to adults living with developmental disabilities, creating a more inclusive, understanding, and vibrant community. @BrantCommFdn supported “Social Opportunities,” which provides the chance to experience social activities, such as a Toronto Blue Jays game.

The mission of STEM Camp is to inspire Canadian youth through hands-on activities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Support from @BrantCommFdn increased access to unique STEM learning experiences, allowing participants to attend coding classes and robotics activities

“The Voice of the River” is a collaborative production between @GTCBrantford, the Canadian Centre for Rural Creativity, Shadowland Theatre, and the Hamilton Aerial Group. With support from @BrantCommFdn, the production will travel the length of the Grand River over 18 nights.

Organized Kaos helps young people learn about the skilled trades while building meaningful relationships through mentorship. @BrantCommFdn supported the expansion of the Welding Core Mentorship Program through funding for materials and tools for the students and their mentors.

“If we want to invest in early literacy, children need books to read”-@kidscanflyca exemplifies this belief through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The program, supported by @BrantCommFdn, provides thousands of books in the mail, free of charge, to local children every month.

The BMC presents four concerts annually to enhance interest in the arts and encourage Canadian artists. @BrantCommFdn supported two concerts in the Canadian Artists Series at the Sanderson Centre: The Young Artists Recital and Louise Pitre, Canada’s first lady of musical theatre.
