What makes a board game feel “casual” to you? The kind you'd bring out for friends who don’t usually play board games. Is it simple rules? Fast turns? Great art? I’m trying to learn what makes a game fun without pressure.

What’s a board game art style that really stuck with you? Not the mechanics, but the look, the vibe, the mood. What game made you stop and think: “I love the way this feels”?
Thinking about event cards in board games... What are some cool ways you’ve seen events triggered other than once-per-round? •Players choosing to activate them? •Hidden conditions? •Risk-based triggers? Trying to find creative twists that avoid repetition! Or extra steps
Board games aren’t immune to global politics. Tariffs, shipping costs, and factory delays are squeezing creators hard from what I’ve heard. Will we see a shift toward local production? Higher prices? Fewer new games? Curious how this plays out in 1–5 years. Thoughts?
Got a lot of feedback on players around their impression of Bang! The board game. Seems like the majority felt like the player elimination was one of the biggest pain points, especially if it happens early on! People want to play, not watch 🫡
I'm thinking about the games that inspired me: Bang! taught me how simple hidden roles can create huge tension and laughs (even if sometimes it dragged a little). What games inspired you, and what did you love (or maybe not love) about them?
One thing I know for sure This board game journey won’t be perfect. There will be mistakes, weird ideas, bad sketches... and hopefully some great ones too! But that’s the fun of building something new!
