On Saturday, October 14th, starting at 9:13 AM and ending at 12:09 PM, Albuquerque will be a premier place on the continent to experience a rare annular solar eclipse. This “ring of fire” solar eclipse is cause for celebration and watch parties.
In 2019, ABQ became the first city in the U.S. to recognize tribal sovereignty and establish intergovernmental relations with tribes.
Today, we continue strengthening these connections and working with tribal leadership to make our community safer, healthier, and more inclusive.
It is important that we continue to acknowledge how meaningful it is to honor & celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day.
We recognize the powerful contributions of Native people the community, & the important role they played, & continue to play, in making ABQ what it is today.
Last week we welcomed tribal officials from Zuni Pueblo for a site-visit! 👏🏽 We shared with them the important work we do for the urban Native community here in our city.
