In September 2019, CASP, Pune conducted a fun learning English grammar workshop for 5th to 9th std students as many were finding it difficult to study English in the higher grades. CASP team had invited Mrs. Supanekar who has been teaching English in Sarita vidyalay, Pune.
On 22nd August children of the Katthaddhar area were made aware of the way to prevent malaria. They were informed of the various ways in which mosquitoes could be prevented from breeding. Children were also told about the precautions to take in daily life.
World Photography Day was celebrated on 20th August at the Lakadiya REC Center in which children were informed about photography and taken to the river bank next to the village of Lakadiya and taught photography. They clicked amazing snaps there.
On 18th August, the Rapar REC Center has been featured in our National Signage. It was explained to children on the chart paper about the nationality and National signs of India and children's songs were prepared. The project manager of CASP, Maheshbhai Chauhan was present.
A program for observing of fertilizers with children was conducted at Suwai REC Center on 17th August, difference between organic fertilizer and urea fertilizer and observed how to get good produce. They learned which fertilizer is more useful for farming and studied its effects.
Rakshabandhan festival was celebrated in the Lakadiya REC center on the 14th of August. The children were given an understanding about Rakshabandhan and its importance, the rakhis were made by the children and the festival was celebrated.
World deworming Day was celebrated in the Lakadiya REC Center on 8th of August, where Devendrabhai Dhawal, from the Lakadiya PHC, explained to the children about worms and diseases cause by them. Children were also told about hygienic measures to avoid worms.
On 13th August 2019, at Lakadiya REC Center introduced children to science lesson in 6th std, games were played where there were many items on the table, the children were asked to observe a little and then taken to some other place and asked to write names of the items they saw.
Friendship Day was celebrated on the 4th of August 2019 at the Rapar REC Center in which children apologized to their friends for the mistakes they made and tied friendship bands. A review was made to break free from addiction and a chain of care was created for inclusion.
On the 3rd and 4th of August, Personal Guidance Sessions were conducted by Advocate Kishorebhai Maheshwari and Vinodbhai Doshi at Suwai and Rapar centers respectively. They guided the children about various topics like law, education, health and anti-gastric diet.
On 3/08/19 two activities were held at Rapar REC Center of CASP Gujarat unit, various sights of Kutch were introduced on chart paper and presented and two known meters and their uses in daily life were shown on charts. About 35 children participated in the program undertaken.
Mr. Per Jacobsen visited India recently and met Sayali who he helped by sponsoring her education. He met with her at the CASP Mumbai Unit office and then visited at her home! It was an emotionally charged moment because Sayali is now grown up and working!
Yoga day celebrations in CASP Pune unit 's Swachch Bharat, Swachch Vidyalay PMC (SBSV) schools of Balewadi, Sutarwadi, Katraj, Dattanagar, Warje and Kothrud areas on 21st June 2019. Yoga at an early age encourages self-esteem and body awareness with a physical activity.
