Conservative Group Leader Janet Clowes was alerted to Cllr Asquith's email last night. He has been instructed to issue an apology and told that in the interests of public and member confidence, he must not attend today's Council meeting.

The Tories have taken back the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner. John Dwyer will get back into the office he lost to Labour in 2016. Interesting given the only concurrent elections were again in Warrington and Halton where Labour *normally* do better than the Conservatives.

Congleton's recycling centre WON'T be replaced when its lease runs out in Sept. @CheshireEast has previously said it'd be too expensive. Cllr Laura Crane said the council did try to buy the land and extend the lease, but can't use compulsory purchase powers...

The Conservative cllr behind the motion of no confidence in the mayor - Liz Wardlaw - said "the irony will not be lost on any of us" that Barry Burkhill approved a @CheshireEast motion condemning bullying "just days" before that infamous Handforth Parish Council meeting.
