Just helped my 13 year old resolve a Python dependency nightmare - it took an hour, and I had to introduce him to venvs and poetry and the difference between packages installed from pip and apt on Ubuntu. It's utterly embarrassing to see this fiasco through fresh eyes.

Has anyone recovered files from a HP tapeware backup? It's a shot in the dark that this is the format, based on the time period and hardware used, Im going to try to use the original software to confirm once this backup is done. It would just be easier to work from a dd'ed image.

How have you represented/explained the temporal cost of digitization to people outside archives/cultural heritage? I know there are calculators & such for financial cost but I am curious how people have explained the amount of time & effort required.
