So many founders rush to raise without considering the tax implications. I wonder how many innovations or innovators have vanished over not understanding the tax code.
One of my best friends is in his 90s. He used to deliver bread for 1/2 cent a loaf. That was after a raise. Some stores only took 1 loaf. They didn’t even have ballpoint pens or calculators when he was a kid. Sometimes we forget the insanity of this gift of being alive today.
Michigan is a special place for those that want to innovate in all variety of weather. Test your hardware in humid 100 degree Fahrenheit weather and negative 30 degree windchills. Buy a home with some property. Raise your family while reindustrializing the USA.
There are two places that are not talked about like they should be. San Diego. Las Vegas. Two of my favorite areas for innovators. San Diego if weather is your biggest priority. Las Vegas as long as you don’t gamble or drink.
I remember learning about Austin Texas from The Real World on MTV. I was going to move there over Silicon Valley. I knew Austin would become a very significant city, but it took slightly longer than I anticipated.

If you are 15 to 25, buy a used car with a blown engine. Turn it into an electric car. Fork openpilot. Get your car to identity as a 2020 Toyota Corolla or similar. Enjoy.
Silicon Valley is magical. Car + Sleeping bag + Gym membership + DoorDash Dasher account = Infinite runway
When I walked around Silicon Valley with my “Hungry Founder” sign, everyone loved it. Women stopped me to get their picture taken together. Men gave me thumbs up. That doesn’t work outside of Silicon Valley.
I’ve been talking to a lot more realtors lately. Maybe it’s just the one’s I’ve talked to, but all of them seem to be obsessed with AI.
Data centers will be in everyone’s backyard. Say YIMBY.
People want to electrify the border wall. Haven’t they heard AI is in an electricity shortage?
