TU-2S 1078 as PINON53 performing a few low approaches before heading back to Beale. The second shot has a guest appearance from TAHOE41. We saw 078 at the end of June with the tail codes in white, it appears to have been painted over with the usual red we're used to seeing...

PINON61 - 1 of 3 remaining TU-2Ss with the 1st R.S practicing some approaches at KCIC today. Only 5 TU-2Ss were ever built. 1078 was damaged in 2021 and had all of the necessary wing repair and PDM work completed at Beale AFB. 1 airframe has been retired and 1 lost in 2016.

I've confirmed that the two targets operating in hexagonal surveillance orbits over DTLA these past 36 hours are both MQ-9s, callsigns TROY701 and 703 As 703 replaced 701, they passed each other in the airspace near Yuma, AZ where I found this needle in the haystack! Listen š»
