Nīpin, or summer (July and August), actually translates to "gifts from the water" (nipi = water; in = to give) because this is the season in which water is providing life in the rivers and through the raspberry and blueberry rains. sixseasonsproject.ca/seasons/nipin

In the Rocky Cree seasonal calendar, each season has two moon cycles of 28 days, and each moon is named to describe the natural conditions observed by Elders in their natural surroundings. Sikwan, or break-up, actually translates to "rattling in". See more below: ⬇️
