CSHH is thrilled that the infrastructure bill has passed the Senate with healthy bipartisan support. This bill will dedicate $106 million to improving Long Island Sound and its embayments, such as Hempstead Harbor. Thank you to Senator Chuck Schumer for seeing this bill through.

As many of us flock to the beach to get a perfect view of fireworks this weekend, remember to always bring your trash home with you. Trash left on our beaches will ultimately end up in our waters, harming wildlife and dirtying the beaches we love. Have a happy 4th!
Paul Boehm is a local fisherman and one of our Fish & Wildlife Reporting Group members. While our regular boat is unavailable to us, Paul has volunteered to take us out on his boat for our weekly monitoring. Paul manages to get in some fishing even while we test the water. 🐟
Every Wednesday, we are out on the water for our core monitoring program. We sample at up to 21 stations from May through October.
Join CSHH at Deep Roots Farmers Market on the second Saturday of every month starting this Saturday, June 12, from 9-1 pm. Located at 100 Garvies Point Road in Glen Cove. We look forward to seeing you there!
Throughout the Sea Cliff Beach Cleanup, volunteers came to the CSHH table to make "garbage art" with the debris they collected on the beach. CSHH board member Sebastian Li helped volunteers with their unique creations. See more art on our website: coalitiontosavehempsteadharbor.org.
A BIG thank you to all of those who participated in the Sea Cliff Beach Cleanup. There was a great turn out, and so much garbage was cleaned from the beach. As we head into the new beach season, take care not to leave any debris on the beach and pick up any litter you find.
