I have done MRCS I have done MRSA I was a surgical reg I'm now a GP reg I can say with certainty that MRSA would not have made me a good surgeon It is unacceptable that this year's applicants have the cost of developing a CST application & will do an exam unvalidated for CST

I've been preparing a CST portfolio since 2018... And they tell us a month before applications that we need to do another exam in January? An exam which isn't surgical, but originally designed for GP applications? It's really exhausting. Maybe time to look at other specialties.

Yesterday the JCST published the person specification for core surgery in 2023. They also revealed in a tweet that the MSRA will be used for shortlisting in the 2023 core surgery application process. We'll have a full debrief of this online shortly...
