It’s official! Elsa was upgraded to a CAT 1 hurricane overnight with sustained winds of 75 MPH and moving and 28 MPH west northwest. Elsa is currently impacting Barbados and approaching the Leeward Islands where hurricane warnings have been issued.(noaa.gov)
Invest 97 has advanced to Tropical Storm Elsa. She is now 670 miles east of Barbados and moving west at 25 mph and winds of 40 mph. Elsa is projected to remain at tropical storm strength.
