The NHS isn't an ‘ecosystem’ to be divvied up between private interests. The NHS is OUR service & must remain THE NHS providing health care for all. We won't let Alan Milburn, Streeting & this Govt downgrade our NHS to the role of just 1 provider amongst private companies.

I've spoken to lots of doctors over the last 2 weeks. The same themes come through time and again. Pay is poor and prospects are dwindling. I'll continue to fight for these causes locally and hopefully, nationally in the next few weeks. The government needs to invest in doctors.

@medicalmodelbri @wesstreeting @NHSEngland @NHSEmployers This highlights that even at the most basic GP presentation - breathlessness - the ACP was unsafe in MANY ways (exam, notes, knowledge, safety netting, escalation). Kill the ACP project. Or kill many more unwitting members of the public. This is not DO NO HARM.

@elonmusk Everyone you know is clearly quite a select few . probably embellishers and serial nonsense reposters. You tried to meddle with US politics and now the UK. Come to my street , I have a spare room if you want first hand experience of a neighbourhood. It's really rather pleasant

@therawlucy Right so you should be able to see that there is much cause for concern from many doctors who want to train that there are situations where it has been deemed appropriate by some that nurse consultants are considered legitimate to supervise registrars for outpatient clinics.…

The nursing degree is focused on patient ‘care’. There is no/minimal medical content within this course - ask any nurse you meet to interpret or even explain what an ECG is. This charade is actually disrespectful to Drs’ intelligence and commitment.

@Parody_RCGP @DoctorsDistress Why is the Royal College of GPs subsidising non-doctors (who are taking the jobs of actual GPs)? These non-doctor replacements are more likely to have jobs & are being paid more than the unemployed/underemployed GPs Sort it out @rcgp

@drvk_voice The dept needs to be formally challenged/investigated on this (inc by the @BMAResidents), because this is medicolegally unsafe - that Reg is likely fully responsible for the medical issues in that clinic because the nurse doesn’t legally have a licence to practise Medicine. 1/

@SocialistHB I'm really sorry Holly but you're wrong on this She states twice that as a Nurse Consultant she is supervising a Registrar Once is curious, twice is intentional Yes it's a staffing issue, but the issue isn't what she thinks it is

Spoke to doctors at Guy’s Hospital today. One doctor is leaving the NHS after failing to get a training job and being unable to support their family on their pay. Unemployed doctors. Long waiting lists. And a Health Secretary who looks away. This is 21st century Britain.

@MedRegoncall1 That is also why you also don’t realise that some actions are important ie talking to next of kin, discuss with consultant etc. Doctors are selected into med school based on appropriate values, behaviours exhibited at interview + academic results.

It shouldn’t be hard to say it’s never appropriate for non medical graduates to be on a doctors’ rota whilst also recognising a place for advanced practice in other roles The arguments atm are solely b/c of a few malign policy makers facilitated by spineless medical leadership
