If @AngelaRayner wanted and intended to pay the correct amount of stamp duty, all she had to do was call @HMRCgovuk and ask. IMO she didnt want to know the correct answer, she just wanted to avoid paying the extra £40k.

Compulsory work place pensions were implemented to assist ending State Pensions. Compulsory minimum hourly pay rates were implemented to increase taxable pay. Neither were done to make your life better financially.
