The whole point of this is that nobody’s forcing you to use one or the other, the way you shade highly depends on your style and not everyone has to use the same colors and same technique
@Cheesebrackers i shade like a 90’s ray tracing engine and im not sure if this is something i should fix of not
@Cheesebrackers shit like this idk
@Cheesebrackers Completely agree although I think even within any art style it’s always worth practicing value and considering the light source. For instance the left ball is shaded darker which could convey a closer or harsher light source and a more intense tone or scenario.
@Cheesebrackers Am I cooked? I thought this was Orbot
@Cheesebrackers Can you tell there's an apple? Yes Can you tell it has a shadow? Yes Does the shadow make sense? Yes
@Cheesebrackers both work well in different situations 😞😞😞
@Cheesebrackers I just be shading and not be knowing wtf im doing
@Cheesebrackers Well done my friend, I thank you from the bottom of my heart, someone had to say it.
@Cheesebrackers Genuinely the energy I address those art tutorials with
@Cheesebrackers That kind of attitude will never have you grow as an artist.
@Cheesebrackers Deviantart artists were dropping odd tutorials just so that no one can get better than them
@Cheesebrackers How about mixing the two together by lowing down the alpha levels?
@Cheesebrackers I was like cheese brackers like that one person I know on Instagram?? And then I felt stupid
@Cheesebrackers Oh god the only art tutorial I can get behind I dunno artists just do ur thing be happy with ur expression ;_; Like I dunno maybe i dont know shit but it feels like stuff like this makes artists feel like they will never be good enough and people to never start drawing
