Thereby, the Benin Hub organized a training session on December 15th, 2023 in order to better inform the staff of the hospital's surgery department. Congratulations to Professor Ismail LAWANI and to the Benin Hub's Staff. This goes for the implementation of CHEETAH Trial Results.
For the implementation of CHEETAH, two administratives memos have been issued by the CHUDOP hospital in Porto Novo requiring operating room staff to change their gloves and instruments before closing the abdominal incision, and to use the surgical checklist during all operations.

5️⃣ Aneel Bhangu (@aneelbhangu) for all the hard work and high-impact contributions that led up to his promotion to full Professor in July 2023. Leading research teams doing the hard yards collecting and analysing data was hard yards and has underpined so much debate + policy.
4️⃣ Mwayi Kachapila for amazing work on health economics of global surgery that will soon be published as his first major major journal first author paper. This paper will reset the bar for global surgery health economics.
3️⃣ Donna Smith (@CheetahRct) & Rachel Lilywhite (@FalconRct) for speeding forwards with getting DRAGON in to ethics. DRAGON will be a massive (26.8k patients, 134 hospitals) cluster randomised trial comparing reusable versus single use drapes and gowns in theatre.
2️⃣ Virginia Ledda (@VirginiaLedda) for leading the set-up of the Research for Greener Surgery Conference (Dec 2023) This brought together a multidisciplinary group of 290 to discuss research around decarbonising operating theatres Lots of new connections made & ideas hatched

Thereby, the Benin Hub organized a training session on December 15th, 2023 in order to better inform the staff of the hospital's surgery department. Congratulations to Professor Ismail LAWANI and to the Benin Hub's Staff. This goes for the implementation of CHEETAH Trial Results.
For the implementation of CHEETAH, two administratives memos have been issued by the CHUDOP hospital in Porto Novo requiring operating room staff to change their gloves and instruments before closing the abdominal incision, and to use the surgical checklist during all operations.
