1. What is #CAA2019? Basically a useless, unnecessary Act which does not do anything good or bad for the country. However it is potentially provocative. And perhaps designed to be that way. It is an Act for foreigners & doesn't affect Indians. 2

2. About #CAA_NRC_Protests : Protests are scripted like bad Bollywood films. They always end the same way. In violence. Idea of peaceful protests may sound romantic to many. But it doesn't happen. There is always violence from both sides since tempers, emotions run high.

3. Apart from #CAA2019 & #NRC being really bad legislation, whatever else is being said is propaganda. If ppl say it's good or bad, both are narratives. Narratives feed into each other. They cause fear. They polarise. Calm heads are needed in this situation.

4. Protest may be our fundamental right but look at outcomes. The MoShah duo get stronger the more we "bash" them. Students will be criminalised for life. We give rabble-rousers & cops a great opportunity to initiate & continue violence.

5. Whatever stands ppl like Modi, Shah & Mamata take are all positioning. It is about power and politics. About votebanks. It is better to call out a stupid law for what it is rather than be fearful. Calling it out as dumb makes those who passed the law look dumb.

6. The upper middle class may romanticise protests. But they're not the ones getting their heads broken in UP and Delhi. They will not suffer. I request them not to start something that will endanger other lives. The #CAA2019 is not worth it.

This country is and always will be secular. We've had a troubled past and we must learn from it & safeguard our secular nature. Our Muslim friends will not be in danger as long as the rest of us stand by them. Let this not lead to communal clashes. We won't recover from that.

#NCCmemories I have fantastic memories of 1981 That was when I was chosen as the Best All India Senior Cadet. Mrs Indira Gandhi was the PM. We were selected to go to Canada on a Youth Exchange Program Those were the days my friend we thought would never end
