Here’s a look at some of the iterations I did to explore the color of this scene! #AcrossTheSpiderVerse #GwenStacy
This is the version that was used for the film, after many rounds of art direction and director feedback.
@Chuwenjie Beautiful as always, Kat! After you do these, do you have to do paintovers once they go through the 3D lighting step or is it more of something you deliver and just let the 3D people interpret it?
@Chuwenjie These are amazing! Did you do many versions of these and present to the ADs or was a back and forth with them?
@Chuwenjie Every shot between Gwen and her dad were some of the most visually stunning things I'd seen in an already visually stunning movie. I was just flabbergasted at every little shift in color, framing, backgrounds, everything
@Chuwenjie @DoigSwift the colours for the scenes between these two were for me the best part of the movie, so moving 🩷
@Chuwenjie @pompmaker1 What do the different numbers mean? Other than just putting them in a grid making it easier to label them?
@Chuwenjie it's truly phenomenal the amount of work you all put in this! it's amazing and was for sure worth the wait!! can't wait for btsv
@Chuwenjie Did you also do the scene at the end of the movie ?
@Chuwenjie i love ur work so much and would love to have a similar job when i grow up :]] i love seeing all the behind the scenes art
@Chuwenjie FANTASTIC movie, and in all honesty this scene with the color shifts reflecting the emotional conversation was hands down my favorite visuals of the entire movie!! = Brilliant 😍
@Chuwenjie 🥺🥺🥺 i love this behind of scene, can we ask for the art book please
@Chuwenjie incredible work :,) i absolutely loved these moments
@Chuwenjie This scene bangs. Jaw-drop-on-the-floor moment in the cinema. Thank you so much for helping to make this movie the masterpieceit is!❤❤
@Chuwenjie @mexopolis Whew: that scene was so amazing! THANKS
@Chuwenjie Is every scene animated in Maya all the 3d stuff and lighting
@Chuwenjie This scene is so unique, the emotional turmoil is represented in unusual bright color, not the typical grim grey color, it's so weird (in a good way)
@Chuwenjie @LazerPotaters You must've spent a lot of time painting these!
