The entire piece is an exact 8 ex 4 canon at the octave! In addition there is a cantus firmus embedded in the fabric. Such tenderness - it sounds to me like a lullaby!

This piece is one of the most beautiful pieces of the entire Renaissance. It is also a compositional tour-de-force. The top four voices imitate the lower four voices five notes higher two bars (measures) later.
