It's about -15F out, and I love it. All the warm weather creeps are gone. I just spent an hour at midnight, all by myself, skating on the lake. It's feckin' cold, but I grew up in the north and have skated and ice fished in worse. It was so nice and quiet.

The lads all requested a coffee cake, so I used my old "waitress who made desserts" history, I did my best. It's pretty delicious. Haven't left my house in 6 weeks, but get, I made a cake. 😂

Picked up my kid from school dressed like this today. It was a pretty big hit. Then I took him to Gamestop and took selfies with a teletubbie while he bought a new funko pop and a psn card.

Someone used my email account to sign up for a premium 🌽 account and put in their credit card info before activating the account, cuz, my email. So I signed him up for a whole year of premium, then changed the password. Have fun paying for things you can't access, dick.

It's too early to go walking because there are still people out. I'm doing that horrible pacing the kitchen thing, my brain is all squirrelly because it's been fireworks and sirens for 5 nights straight now. Maybe 2 more hours until I can go outside.

It's been 5 years since I lost my best friend to suicide. I don't have anything motivational tonight. I'm bitter and I'm angry at the system that did this to him. They ruined me, and killed him. What a waste of 15 years of my life. Medals and scars, who gives a fuck.

I asked my son, "If Harry is short for Harold, and Gerry is short for Gerald, shouldn't it be Barold and Larold for Barry and Larry?" 13 is a good age, he laughed until he gagged. He's a great kid and I'm really lucky. Not so much goes great in my life, but he is.

My favourite part of being Canadian is getting to watch the new baby North American House Hippos learn how to forage for snacks each summer. If you're really quiet, and really lucky, you might get to see these magical little guys. 🦛🦛 (no ai, just toys of mine.)

I'm 5'0, my 13 year old just hit 5'6, his dad is 6'2, and I put on Short People by Randy Newman for him. I've never seen my kid laugh so hard, he was like, "What short person hurt him?!?" 2 hours later he says to me, "You got a tiny little voice that goes peep peep peep" 😂

I really wish I could get footage of this, but I haven't the skill. There are so many lightning bugs just plinking on and off and the whole field is full of them and it's like fairy lights.

Baby doves are now at the wildlife rehab place. They have a mama dove who's a good foster mom, and she'll take care of them in a few days when they're done being formula fed. She said they're warm and happy and should be ok.

After her 4th try, mama mourning dove has two fresh babies. They hatched yesterday, I saw her carry away the shell pieces, but now I get to see them eat. I'm so happy for her.

Ok I couldn't think of anything clever or funny for my son's dad's birthday ice cream cake, so I had them write this, and when he asks why, I'll say, "Didn't expect that, did you?" my brain is oatmeal. I've lost it.
