Android M has is now till date the latest a os on Android. But it haven't changed a lot as the Os should.
Operating system has given us a way to connect, work and what not. A box can start processing by an operating system.

so whats a deadlock? when i request for a resource which is already held by a waiting process

multitasking os allows another job to perform onto the cpu if the first job is leaving the cpu for I/O which allows more cpu utilization,
A question about how the resources in multitasking and multiprogramming OS were used efficiently,the answer is by using parallelism
After the batch OS,the better OS introduced were multitasking and multiprogramming OS,for use of resources efficiently.
