@CateOwen I walk, not cycle and the lycra man packs comment is on point. I keep to the left but have been - forced off trail numerous times and once clipped by a particularly noxious guy in lime green. Just my jacket sleeve but it gave this old lady a fright.

I have now been biking the Northwest cycle way for a week. Two things I learned: 1. Lycra man packs will not give space, but buzz past 2-3 abreast, despite your flailing arms begging them to move over. 2. There's a different pair of undies sitting lonesome on the path every day.

@ElizabethxKerr @dimsie @whaeapower I’d love to see the stats! Most of the covid-anti-vaxxers I’ve encountered are actually male. But the women I know have questioned and researched and debated then questioned some more… and then got vaxxed. They’ve been “obsessive” about following updates, outbreaks & trends.

Tonight an older ex pat English couple we know started whining about their MIQ stay after visiting their kids and grandkids in the UK. I said far too cheerily ‘aren’t you lucky to have had a spot in MIQ?’ They hate Jacinda for being competent and a leftie.

Rapid antigen tests only have a role where there is widespread covid in the community. As things are now in NZ the pre test probability is so low that the error of the test predominates, false positives and worse false negatives
