Colleagues from local area teams came together for a weekend of Water Safety & Rescue at @KipMarina to practice one of the core skills common to all UK Coastguard Rescue Teams. If you see someone in distress in the water or around the coast, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
Team tasked on Saturday night at 8.30pm alongside @LargsCRT, @LargsRNLI and HM Coastguard helicopter 199 to support @PolScot locating a jetski and its rider reported missing between Millport and Largs. All persons located safely ashore later in the evening. #999Coastguard

Sunday's training covered operational response to marine pyrotechnics & explosive ordnance found on the shore. HM Coastguard coordinates the response including mobilising Coastguard Rescue Teams and Explosive Ordnance Disposal from the MoD as required.

First event of the year for the team was observing the annual Loony Dook at Kames Bay along with @Scotambservice colleagues from Cumbrae. Another great turnout and some fantastic costumes so well done to all those who braved the elements!

Last training session of 2024 included key parts of casualty care such as patient assessment, distinguishing between symptoms, time-critical markers, use of defibrillator and bag valve mask, maintaining airway, use of suction and airway adjuncts, plus knot practice in the dark.
