Not to sound like an old wench but I cannot stand everything being digitized
Not to sound like an old wench but I cannot stand everything being digitized
@Curryfidat We vulnerable with those apps cause govt can easily Have access and alter our private info
My mother has my great-great-Grandma and great-Grandma‘s passports from Italy from a hundred years ago. I can’t even describe the emotions I felt getting to see and touch them. It made me feel connected to two people I have never met, and it so vividly brought the past into the present day…
@Curryfidat Yes! Everything needs an app or an account like just take my money
@Curryfidat needing a login or password for every little thing is tiringgg
@Curryfidat Digitization is the best thing to happen. it cuts out inefficiency, gatekeepers, and nostalgia that holds society back. Clinging to analog is just fear of progress disguised as tradition.
@Curryfidat Haven’t been able to save concert tickets as keepsakes because Ticketmaster with their digital tickets by phone only 😫
@Curryfidat Gives them the power to delete anything they want at any time. Imagine everyone integrating to digital everything, and at the push of a button… everything about you but your ability to live is erased.
@Curryfidat needing an app or password or account for everything is exhaustinggg.
@Curryfidat Passport stamps are literally my favorite thing to “collect” when I travel overseas 🥺
@Curryfidat We had an hours long power outage in Spain not long ago that stopped almost everything from being used due to all being digitalised, and it was chaos. We really really trust all of it not falling apart too much imo. What tells us this system will hold up forever?
@Curryfidat governments cant even catch up with everything being digitized. why do i need physical documents in order to get a license when everything is on my phone now.
@Curryfidat Totally agree. I loved keeping concert & event tickets, having something real. Owning CD's and favorite movies..real books are a must. Sometimes old school is the best school.
@Curryfidat Yes fr I hate how everything is turning into a screen. It's annoying and sometimes concerning how people just go along with it without thinking of the downsides(i.e. electric cars)
@Curryfidat and tbh its not reliable like a piece of paper is tbh
@Curryfidat i have a dishwasher that literally runs on wifi and you have to download an app to even get it to run💔 (thank the universe it’s not mine)
@Curryfidat My use for digitization is solely for archival purposes. I'd much rather have the physical item, but it can be useful to provide resources for others who CANNOT access the physical item. It is not a replacement.
@Curryfidat That's weird cause I traveled in the 2000s and they stopped that stamping a long time ago like why is this news
@Curryfidat there's a tangibleness that's being depleted from the world.
@Curryfidat Me neither I like getting stamps on my passport That’s why I’ve resisted getting a passport card
@Curryfidat as a journalism major , i’m sad asf paper magazines aren’t a thing anymore . not like they use to be
@Curryfidat Cuz not having stamps but being well traveled makes me feel like a LOSER🙁
@Curryfidat Now I don't know much about anything, but this seems like a really dangerous and greedy move actually.
@Curryfidat People gonna start selling passport stamping online 😭
@Curryfidat Like, please 🙏🏾 I want physical keepsakes, give me a stamp! 😭😭
@Curryfidat @theidi_ Electric & AI is going to be our downfall !
@Curryfidat I love technology, but I also love manual output, ugh
@Curryfidat GIVE US BACK PHYSICAL CONCERT TICKETS
@Curryfidat I hate it. It's one reason why I refuse to buy ebooks.
