Libra probably would have extended US hegemony - centralized stable backed by USD with far-reaching GTM tentacles across the entire world. Could have supplanted mobile money even. Imagine the newfound possibilities for US-led sanctions / KYC / digital ID...

starting to think that economic frontier (climate, crypto, etc.) is actually littered with the corpses of thousands of organizations came before. The ones that make it out are probably anomalous, not just lucky in terms of timing.
