#WritersAtTheirDesks British thriller writer #LeeChild wrote his first novel #KillingFloor in 1997 which won two writing awards, including the #BarryAward for Best First Novel. He's especially known for his #JackReacher novels. Check out his books in our collection!

#WritersAtTheirDesks #BillWatterson's famous comic strip #CalvinAndHobbes went into syndication 1985- lasted until he finished the cartoon Dec. 31, 1995. Watterson created these characters while working a job he hated. Some Calvin and Hobbes books are available in our collection.

#WritersAtTheirDesks #HLMencken - American essayist, satirist, and social critic. He was a journalist w/ several papers until landing at the Baltimore Morning Herald (1900). He was an avid reader & considered reading Huckleberry Finn as "the most stupendous event in my life."

#WritersAtTheirDesks American cartoonist #DaveBerg is well known for his cartoon "The Lighter Side" found in #MadMagazine. He began working for Mad in 1957, and passed in 2002. He also wrote a book "My Friend God: Confessions of a Zany Prophet" which is sadly out of print.
