I think this is what a majority of people don’t get. Barry’s emotional connection to Iris is so much stronger than anything else and is a core part of him. It can’t be duplicated or replaced by anyone else no matter how much they try.

I feel that's one of the downfalls of this show. They didn't know how to connect the side characters properly to the leads and just added a superficial relationship (ie Allegra wanting to be a journalist or Cecile as Joe's love interest) and thought that would be enough.

Foster siblings? See this is why people who say this get hate bc the only reason Barry went to live with Joe & Iris is bc Iris was his best friend. In the very first episode Joe tells us this. Barry always was in love w/ Iris and only saw her as his best friend.

Some people should just learn that not everything that comes their heads should come out of their mouths. He had a wife and daughter who have just lost their husband and father and this is what you want to say shortly after his tragic passing. Go touch some grass and keep quiet.
