🇷🇺 BREAKING: Russia’s domestic SJ-100 jet completes its maiden flight. Russian media reports it’s 100% made in Russia and aims to reduce the country’s reliance on Boeing and Airbus.
@Defence_Index I'll say it again, sanctions have been nothing but a blessing for Russia. Because necessity is the mother of all invention.
@Defence_Index Sounds like the most dangerous plane on the planet. We know Russia doesn’t care about civilians even its own.
@Defence_Index Boeing has destroyed its own brand. Trump released Boeing parts to China as a last ditch effort to save Boeing from total collapse. Weaponising critical trade deals is insanity. Weaponising the $ was the biggest mistake the US ever made.
@Defence_Index Boeing and Airbus will be the big losers in this scenario.
@Defence_Index Nothing is 100% made in Russia. They are incapable.
@Defence_Index Interesting development, but remember the Aviation supply chains are incredibly complex.
@Defence_Index The biggest growth in airlines for the next 50 years will be in Eurasia. Sanctions signalled to Russia, China, India etc., that they cannot rely on Boeing/Airbus, as if they irritate the west, they will be grounded. Eurasia will be self sufficient, & Boeing will wither.
@Defence_Index @RapidResponse47 @realDonaldTrump and here go our airline business lmao…India ordering there and lot of other countries
@Defence_Index The superjet has been around for years. It has a lot of western tech in it. It has a massive corrosion issue also which is why interjet ditched their fleet.
@Defence_Index But where will they get the titanium? Oh, wait...
@Defence_Index In the same way it will not get a commercial license in Europe or in the USA just like the Kiani jet did not get one… just because.
@Defence_Index would be too iconic if it would break on the 2nd flight
@Defence_Index It reminds me of my youth and a few flights on Tupolev planes. Those trips were always exciting adventures. The fear of death always cheers me up on long journeys.
@Defence_Index Looks like an old Boeing 737 painted silver. Which it probably is. LOL
@Defence_Index flight control computer is a Raspberry Pi 3...
@Defence_Index @aviationblogs It's been a long time since I've seen smoke from airliners' engines. just saying.
@Defence_Index This aircraft, even with Western components, was one of the most unreliable in the world. We all know how that will end.
@Defence_Index There should be 100 of them by now Elusive like t14 armata
@Defence_Index I'd never fly on a Russian aircraft or one operated by a Russian company.
@Defence_Index That looks like an expensive missile, I wonder where it will crash and burn 🔥 😅😂🤣🤣
@Defence_Index Unlike China, Russia do have the ability to produce some stuff independently. But their technology haven't progressed much beyond 1980s. So the market share outside of Russia will be ZERO.
