I am immunocompromised. For yrs, I’ve implored cancer center staff in Hartford, CT to exercise basic precautions, such as donning a mask, particularly when they themselves show signs of being unwell. My pleas were often dismissed or met w/distain. #DoRight4AllLivesAlways #COVID19

A problem w/detecting #PancreaticCancer early is habituation to symptoms. It takes @ 15 yrs for the tumor grow. I was dx at 40 but started having vague abdominal pain & GI issues at 25. Like lines in the grocery store, you get used to it & the discomfort becomes your new normal.

#Pancreaticcancer is hard to detect because in the early stages it doesn’t cause many specific symptoms and the symptoms it does cause are vague and common to many conditions. Know the risk factors and be familiar w/the symptoms. #DemandBetter early detection tests. See @PanCAN

#PancreaticCancer is the deadliest major cancer & the only w/5-yr survival in the single digits. In 2013, when I was dx, 5-yr survival-all stages combined-was just 6%. From 2014-2017 it increased to 9% w/Stage IV PDAC still near 1%.We need to #DemandBetter #wagehope #defyterminal
