#DHBTotD It's not often that I see a genuinely new approach to any aspect of project tracking. So kudos to #Basecamp for their #HillChart idea (m.signalvnoise.com/new-in-basecam…). I see some holes that need filling in, but it's a great start.

After five+ months, finally trying to get an answer from #airfrance, I was finally told that they don't view food on long international flights as part of their customer contract, and will not compensate for an egregious mess-up!!

#dhbtotd Enjoying the #calendar. The #omer count this year matches the weekday (as always, when the first day of pesach is shabbat). But, much rarer, also matches the month of April. This last time these both occurred was 1934! (But will occur again in 11 years in 2029).

#dhbtotd Is the #Appstore business model flawed? Revenue sharing encourages the platforms' managers to turn a blind eye on developer antics. #Facebook and #CambridgeAnalytics are certainly not the only example.

#dhbtotd Feeling the power of #Moore's law! Google has started to release their #TPUv2 chip. Measured naively in TFLOPS, it is about 100,000 times as fast as a late 1980s #Cray supercomputer. Cloud usage costs about $7/hr. So, $7 buys you 100,000 cray hours -- about 11 years!
