I'm trying to learn to use AI more effectively. I feel like its a wild horse: if I can learn to tame it, I'll travel faster but right now it feels like I could have crawled to my destination in the time its taking me to master it. It's frustrating but I'm learning! Tips welcome👂
We don't get better when things are easy. We get better when we struggle through things and we have to tear it apart to put it back together. That's the best way to understand how it works. So if you're up against it today I hope you remember that it's actually a great thing. 💪
Soon all my kids will be in school all day for the first time. Career side of me is excited for the productivity boost. Working remote with young kids is hard. Mom side of me is excited for them but hates how quickly they're growing up and I'm going to miss them like crazy. 😥
I think a huge takeaway for me from Laracon is that I've been treating AI all wrong. Reminds me of how dog trainers will say its actually about training the human rather than the dog. I've been treating my AI wrong and wondering why it misbehaves. I'm excited for Boost to help me
I'm sad Laracon is over but there are so many things I'm excited to go home and play with now. The talks were amazing this year. I think it might have been the best one I've been to yet. Can't wait for next year!
This is amazing. Bravo for building something to directly help people like this. It doesn't require a login.. it's not dripping in ads.. it's just humans helping humans and I love it. ❤️

So when a hobby project becomes a business.. you need to prioritize your work based on user needs but I still want to just play around with features. It feels like selfish development. Like I'm cheating on users by building the things the way I want instead of shipping fast
Next step I'm thinking to setup in this project is picking a look for the dashboard. Luckily, Tailwind UI makes this super simple! Now the big question top nav or sidebar layouts? 🤔 What do you all prefer for dashboards? I'm kind of leaning sidebar #TailwindUI#BuildingInPublic
LaraconUS 2025 is going to be so much bigger. Between Herd and now with Cloud coming, it's going to be so easy for new devs to jump into Laravel. And once you get a taste of Laravel, there's no going back. Come for the code, stay for the community 👏
While in Dallas our team played some VR as a team building exercise and it was awesome. Now that I'm back in Buffalo I can't find any like that here. Can someone please open one of these around here? That would be amazing. Otherwise I might have to move.
It's funny to me how the very thing that makes you a better developer is the same thing that makes you feel like the worst. Diving into a new technology is humbling.
I always have to have my camera on in a video call. If it's off, there's a 90% chance my pug will come into my office for attention and if you can't see what's happening you would think I'm half pig. Can't really interrupt to be like "those sounds are my pug, not me!"
Sometimes development feels like tetris. If you get everything to fit just right, sometimes you get to blow away lines of code and it is so, so satisfying.
Found my new late night coding soundtrack. Dig deep by @NewMedicine and @adelitasway. When I cut off the coffee I have to get my energy from music. 🎸This does it for me. 🎵🎙
