If you told me Jake Allen was signing a 5 year contract yesterday I would have lost it. But seeing the very team friendly AAV? I’ve become a huge Jake Allen fan. Hats off to Allen for taking a discount to stay in Jersey when he could have gotten way more elsewhere today.

Hurricanes are dismantling the Capitals. The same way they did the Devils, however the Devils were plagued with injuries down the stretch and limped into battle. The Caps are in a world of hurt right now after what was a super regular season throughout for them.

Just dreadful Burst out to a 3-0 lead showing you may still know how to play hockey. Give it up in 3 minutes of game time in period 2. Weak special teams (all series for that matter) Don’t even threaten for a goal in the OT periods. Stupid 4 minute penalty. Season over.

Going 0-for in 4 games on the Powerplay while having a a below average penalty kill is the death blow thus far. Forget the injuries and all that, for 2 minute spurts of special teams during games NJ is getting outplayed massively by CAR and that’s helped write the tale thus far

It’s great NJD can play well on the road, but why is home ice such a problem for them? Ending the home season with only 19 wins (1 of them overseas) is just abysmal for a team that is built to be a contender. If NJ was just a little bit better at home, they’d be a true top team!

Carolina must be so thrilled to draw us in the first round. I’d love nothing more but to make them pay for the countless heartbreakers they put us NJ fans through, but I’m not holding my breath with this team with the way they are currently playing hockey.
