guess what stupid thing I did last night? I was studying & looked down, I was an hour late for Dutchy's shot. I made a mad dash to the kitchen & pulled 5 units of insulin up in a syringe, got Leo upset yelling for Dutchy.. I just fell to my knees, when will this get easier
I woke up this morning and you laid your head on the side of the bed like you did everyday. I SAW you, but when I reached out to pet you, you were gone. I feel like I'm losing my mind. I love you Dutchess I miss you so much

@DogDutchy Can. Not. Tell. My little buddy was diagnosed in June of 2019. We do injections twice a day. Poor little guy is struggling right now. Hard to see him go through this 💔
@DogDutchy It takes a few weeks to het into the habit. You might try setting an alarm for the times for insulin. And be kind to yourself, being late once in awhile won't hurt too much. ❤
@DogDutchy It has been 8 months since I stopped pilling and injecting my neighbor’s dear, old cat. I still have to stop myself rushing up to give Charlie her meds. There are times I think ahe may be jerking my chain with Heavenly cat humor. You did right by Dutchy.
@DogDutchy Give yourself some slack. I've lived w 2 diabetic cats. I always tried to be right on time, but really allowed 1 hour on either side as "on time". You will get a routine down. You don't have to be on the minute. You're doing fine. Really.
@DogDutchy It takes time....we still accidentally grab her a pill at breakfast, or briefly panic when it's after one of the times for her pain pills...it takes time to forget habits you spent years doing when caring for your loved ones...just be kind to yourself ❤
