…Or not. Good question for pharmacy friends. How comfortable are you NOT prescribing drops for pink eye? Seems Shoppers (SDM) wants scripts all around. -via @RealMed3
@DrJohnAquino @RealMed3 I think they get paid $25 from the customer for every Rx they write. At least I think that’s the case here in NS. I asked about the RSV vaccine in the fall and it was $25 to write the Rx, over $300 for the product and $20 to administer it. Quite the incentive to write Rx’s.
@DrJohnAquino @RealMed3 Canadian laws allow?
@DrJohnAquino @RealMed3 Tobramycin for everyone plus PC points.
@DrJohnAquino @RealMed3 Very comfortable. We do a ton of triage. The key is we always did. Only now we finally get paid for it, whether we Rx or not. The amount of polysporin self purchased and administered should also not surprise you. This program may actually mitigate that.
@DrJohnAquino @RealMed3 Actually these drops should be removed from market. Conjunctivitis, whether viral, bacterial or allergy-related must be examined by either optometrist or doctor.
