Mom's funeral is at 2pm today. I'm hanging in there, but damn am I on edge. I'm hoping that having a ceremony will give me some closure. I've already started to move forward, but sometimes I'll just catch a gut punch from something random.

I've been to 3 polling sites so far, dropping off fresh baked goods and fruit. There have been teenage poll workers at each one. That's exciting to see young people getting involved in democracy.

I was getting ready to go put out the last few signs, and grab some more fruit to take to poll workers tomorrow when my sister called. 930am, bad sign. Mom's back in ICU and even dad can't muster any positivity about it.

Can't catch a damn break! Mom's out of ICU so I went out door knocking today. Chrisie was driving me around. All of the sudden I had to rush her to urgent care for possible foodborne illness.

One of the best things about knocking on doors is meeting all the friendly dogs. There were so many big puppies in Lydia Mill and Hickory Tavern that wanted to play. Sadly, I had to stay on task... mostly.

I lost count on how many doors I knocked this afternoon. I know at least 68 in one development because they were numbered, a couple dozen in meadowbrook, and a few dozen more in Cross Hill. I only met one Trumper and we even had a decent conversation. Everyone else was positive.
