This afternoon the Federal Court dismissed the Living Wonders climate cases. Our client is bitterly disappointed.
It’s an outcome that says that, without urgent reform, it is somehow not our Environment Minister’s job, under our national environment laws, to protect our environment from the catastrophic climate harm of coal and gas.
@EJ_Aus What a tragic failing of the Federal Court!
@EJ_Aus A bitterly disappointing result that I hope will be appealed. Thank you for bringing this case though.
@EJ_Aus And, IMO, this is why Plibersek & Labor have delayed reforming EPBC Act & implementing Samuels review. They would be pressured to include a climate trigger & to actually write legislation that protects the environment, which the current legislation doesn’t
@EJ_Aus @abcnews please ask @tanya_plibersek whether there will be a climate trigger in the EPBC Act and if not why not? The ruling said she accepts the science but it’s a matter of policy @tanya_plibersek deliberately making decisions to increase emissions that destroy our environment?
@EJ_Aus Hi EJA, we support you, financially, spiritually, so you can go again! Regards JimAnne
