ESF crews will be conducting training in the area of YAPOAH Terrace today. Firefighters will be working on high-rise fire response. Our crews’ abilities to operate on large buildings led to the successful extinguishment of the Valley River Inn fire.
ESF is hosting Nozzle Forward training to firefighters from across Oregon and Washington. It’s been a great chance for our firefighters to perfect their craft!

At our 9th and final wildfire training, we were joined by the @NWYouthCorps fuels mitigation crew. These you d people are helping reduce the risk of wildfire in the @cityofeugene @spfldoregon
Today crews are conducting wildfire drills at Hendricks Park in SE Eugene before heading back to Springfield’s Thurston Hills natural this afternoon.
Members from our Technical Rescue Team are in Salem this week training on rope rescue. It’s nice when we get to train with other great teams like @SalemFD !!
Crews responded to a series of trash bin fires in the Whitaker neighborhood around 1:00 pm today. All fires were under control quickly and the series of incidents are under investigation.
A shift is conducting wildfire training in the area of Pitchford and Westech in W Eugene today. We appreciate the Musgrove family for use of their property in this important training.
Another day of wildland training for ESF crews. Please consider clearing ladder fuels surrounding your structure. Ladder fuels are shrubs or branches that lead from the ground to you roof.
