Crazy that right now CAISO is 25 GW and ERCOT is 75 GW. Yes, CA has milder weather and TX has more industrial load - but still, that's 3x power demand delta, and CA has 30% more population. @grid_status

Good morning with good news: Building new wind & solar, even with storage, is often cheaper than operating existing coal & gas plants in USA! Marginal cost of wind & solar is often below LCOE of coal & gas. Closing coal & gas plants and replacing them with RE often saves money!
