The underlying motives behind communism are not evil for most. The problem is that it's impossible to achieve in its purest form, and ultimately will always be abused by governments who want more power and more money. Communism makes sense in its purest form until you realize what motivates a huge portion of humanity is the ability to set individual goals and the feeling of achievement when you reach those goals. While most of humanity would love for the lives of those around them to improove, most of humanity also strives to be better than their neighbors, better than their friends, and better than society as a whole. Communism strives to take that individual goal-oriented lifestyle away from humanity and replace it with a lifestyle that strives to create the ideal for all individuals under the communist regime. It doesn't work because it removes the challenges and it removes the individual levels of competition that so much of humanity strives for. It is then abused by those who can abuse it, at the expense of those who have fallen for it.
@EdKrassen It will never be able to be applied because people will always take advantage of the systems. That is why all these socialist policies the left pushes are utter failures. No government program will ever be more efficient than private enterprise.
@EdKrassen "Communism makes sense in its purest form..." No, it doesn't.
@EdKrassen Great point Ed. No one can name a country under it where the people are happy and better off.
@EdKrassen Good synopsis, Ed! Similar can be said about pure capitalism. It just has all the opposite characteristics with essentially the same outcome.
@EdKrassen Same with Socialism and Capitalism… greed and power lust will corrupt any system
