I tracked the rain here in Elephant Head, AZ (no? Amado no? ah...1/2 way between Tucson and Mexico) on our property since 1985. It varies a lot from year to year, but averages 17.88" per year. This year we've only had 4.25" so far and are pacing 2023 for least yearly at 9.26"

We had an unusual bird here today, a Rose-breasted Grosbeak. It wanted the suet and it was not going to let the Ladder-backed Woodpecker push it away. Rose-breasted Grosbeaks are generally not found in our area according to Merlin Bird ID.
