Rikers Island is the largest mental healthcare provider in the state & by far the most expensive. It costs taxpayers $556,539 to incarcerate 1 person in NYC Jails/year for a total $1.3B annually. Imagine investing that $$ in support instead of punishment: treatmentnotjail.com/take-action

It's time to get rid of nitrites in processed meats. Nitrites are preservatives that form nitrosamines - which are carcinogens. A new animal study found that mice fed processed meat containing nitrites developed 75% more tumors than those fed processed meat without nitrite.
