We love Computer Game History and it's our goal to make sure you don't forget it! Mostly PC, but other cool stuff as we see it! AustraliaJoined January 2018
As an immigrant, I know the magnetic power of America's greatness. As a former border Governor, I know the importance of securing our border and fixing our absurdly broken immigration system. As an American, I know that kids shouldn't be pawns while the "adults" figure it out.
Whenever I see an overdressed rich woman at the grocery store, I pretend to need something and say, "Excuse me. Do you work here?" Helps to keep things real!
Neverwinter Nights (1991 - 1997) holds the distinction of being the first graphical online multiplayer RPG. A joint-venture of AOL, Stormfront Studios, SSI, and TSR, it played very similar to SSI's Gold Box games and was set in the Forgotten Realms setting. #DOS #RetroGaming#D&D
Me: Did you throw your carrot-sticks in the grass?
3yr old: No, the crow did it
Me: You know you must always tell the truth, right? Fibs are bold
3yr old: *points out window
Me: *See's crow stealing and flinging carrot-sticks in the grass
3yr old: It's nice to say sorry.
Treasures of the Savage Frontier (1992) finished this two part series and allowed NPC's to fall in love with the player characters depending on different actions taken. Not a massive seller as the interest in Gold Box games was beginning to wane by 1992. #D&D #DOS #RetroGaming
Leisure Suit Larry is back! @CrazyBunchTeam is bringing him back in a new game called Leisure Suit Larry Wet Dreams Don't Dry. I can't wait for this one! So in celebration of that amazingly awesome fact, here's a pic from the original Larry. Long live Larry!
Gateway to the Savage Frontier (1991) was released by SSI who had handed off development using their Gold Box engine to Stormfront Studios. This game had multiple endings and wilderness encountersand introduced the town of Neverwinter to the D&D universe! #D&D #DOS #RetroGaming
The final game in SSI's Gold Box Forgotten Realms series, Pools of Darkness (1991), is a fitting finale to the series. The goal of the game is to finally restore order to the realm of Faerun, ending Lord Bane's rule forever. #D&D #DOS #RetroGaming
Secret of the Silver Blades (1990) is the third part in SSI's Forgotten Realms AD&D Gold Box series. The player's party is yet again able to be imported from the previous installments, and a difficulty setting is available for combat. #D&D #DOS #RetroGaming
Curse of the Azure Bonds (1989) is the second game in SSI's Gold Box Forgotten Realms AD&D series and follows directly on from it's predecessor. Some minor enhancements from the first game, the player could now roll a Ranger or Paladin for their party. #D&D #DOS #RetroGaming
Pool of Radiance (1988) is SSI's first Gold Box game. An early example of the cRPG, it was the first licenced AD&D computer game, set in the popular Forgotten Realms campaign setting. SSIs biggest selling game, it's outsold competitors Bard's Tale and Ultima that year. #D&D #DOS
I am very proud to see that my dear friend @gnomeslair has launched the campaign for his book Virtual Cities, which is set to bring us a very unique and illuminating analysis of urban landscapes in games. A very fine venture, well worth checking out:

Manhunter 2: San Fransisco follows on from the first game and continues the story of the human resistance to the oppressive Orb regime. The final game in what was originally a planned trilogy, Manhunter London, was never released.
One of Sierra's best adventures, and very under-appreciated in my opinion, is the 1988 masterpiece, Manhunter: New York. In a future where the earth has fallen to the Orbs, you're a Manhunter working for the Orbs to track down other humans who are forming a resistance.
Castle of the Winds was released by Epic MegaGames in 1993 and is a CRPG. A story based loosely on Norse mythology it's a great title and worth getting (it's public domain since 1998).
Ancients 1 Death Watch (1991/93) was originally released as Shareware by the designer but was later published by Epic MegaGames as an updated version. A first-person medieval fantasy turn-based RPG, a well executed game for it's time.
Jill of the Jungle is a platform game from Epic MegaGames. A rival to Commander Keen and Duke Nukem, it was a massive hit for Epic and led to further production for the company including One Must Fall, Jazz Jackrabbit, and Unreal.
OverKill (1992) is a horizontal scrolling shooter from Epic MegaGames where your ship can be upgraded with different weapons through picking them up. Quite a challenging game!
