There is definitely a touch more pessimism among some in government about the parliamentary maths than you would expect from the number who have publicly signed Rachael Maskell’s reasoned amendment. Don’t think that’s where government expected to be after concessions last week

I support the Welfare rebels a) because this is rushed legislation b) I want Starmer + co out. If the govt debt isn't sorted out and we have to go to the IMF again, then the fiscal axe will make Argentina look like the proverbial teddy bears' picnic. 10% cuts across the board??
