I'm pretty sure this is a Pacific Diver - today c 1km W of Whitehills, Banff, ABZ. Comments welcome. Consistent features: 1 Chinstrap 2 Never showed white patch/flaring at rear (even when preening) 3 Ear coverts dark 4. Small bill & smaller build /sz than BTD @BirdGuides

Fantastic to see the progressive smoking ban passed in parliament. Neither of my kids can ever legally buy tobacco in this country. As the son of two smokers, one of whom died of lung cancer, I feel this like so many of my generation. Really good news.

.@laurenevans217 and I had a great day at Holyhead. 51 Willow Warbler, 26 Blackcap and Grasshopper Warbler really nice. Found this male Golden Oriole too! Definitely one of the cleanest joint-finds I've had as we picked up this beauty at the same time in flight. What a bird!!!
